Jwaneng Police Investigate HIV Blood Bungle

Jwaneng Town Council and clinic officials could be charged for misleading politicians and lying to the police about the recent disappearance of two cooler boxes which contained syringes and HIV affected blood specimens, the police said on Friday.

The two cooler boxes were found on November 3 2008 by children who allegedly injected one another with syringes after opening the cooler boxes. Councillors in that town have been informed officially that one blood specimen was found damaged with blood spilling.

Jwaneng police on Friday wreaked havoc at the town council and the two clinics as they rounded up senior staff as well as junior nurses to investigate how the two cooler boxes landed at Unit 5, Mogale Ward, where they were found by the children.
