PALAPYE: Jwaneng Galaxy goalkeeper Daniel Kedidimetse breathed a sigh of relief after he was acquitted and discharged from a single charge of defilement brought against him by his former Form 3 classmate in 2013.

The Palapye Magistrate’s Court ruled that at the time of the alleged offence, both the boy and the girl (17 and 15 years respectively), were minors who lacked direction in the social sphere. Kedidimetse was facing a single charge of defilement that allegedly happened on July 6, 2013 in Lerala.

When passing her judgement, Magistrate Gofaone Mosweu stated that the accused was acquitted on the basis that both the accused and the complainant were young children who lacked parental guidance.
