Judgment reserved in court reporters' case

FRANCISTOWN: Justice Modiri Letsididi has reserved judgment in a case in which 16 court reporters want to be considered for promotion. The reporters from various magistrates' courts feel that they have served for too long in C3/4 scales and they deserve promotion.

But principal state counsel, David Moloise submitted that the reporters' application has been overtaken by events as the prayers sought have been fulfilled. "In that case, the matter falls away and the only issue that remains for argument relates to costs," said Moloise.
