Is Lippe going to jail?

In what was perhaps a Freudian slip, the Minister of Works and Transport, Frank Ramsden, mumbled something about someone going to jail but refused to reveal any information regarding the fate of former Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) CEO Thapelo Lippe.

While he has a report of the investigation, he will not disclose anything until the two parties involved have resolved the matter. Lippe, who had acquired a reputation as an effective trouble-shooter when he joined BTC, was suddenly suspended last year amid rumours of World Cup ticket bungling.

"The Lippe case is an individual's case, so I can't discuss it until it is resolved," Ramsden said. "There will be an outcome." However, in a curious fashion, the minister said something about some people going to jail when asked for an update on the matter.
