Immigration Chief Warns Against Graft

The Director of Immigration, Moses Gaealafswe has likened corruption to the cancer disease, which he said kills slowly.

Speaking at a workshop organised by the Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs in Gaborone, Gaealafswe said corruption at the ministry was rampant and must be tackled by all stakeholders. The workshop was attended by among others officers from Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) and Botswana Police Service.

"Like cancer, corruption kills a slow painful death. Corruption starts with being involved in underhanded small activities. For instance, it starts with stealing a pen and then you go on to sell the whole stationery. Therefore, there is need for all of us to ensure that we fight corruption," he said.
