Lobatse High Court Judge Gabriel Rwelengera has reserved judgement in the case in which former Botswana National Front (BNF) Executive Secretary James Mathokgwane is appealing his rape conviction to September 10 this year.

Mathokgwane, a social worker by training, was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison by Broadhust Principal Magistrate Nehemiah Mugoni for raping a nine-year old girl near Gaborone Dam at Old Naledi.

Rwelengera made his ruling after listening to arguments from advocate Sidney Pilane and Senior State Prosecutor Mosweu Ditodi. Mathokgwane's legal team consisted of Pilane, Moses Kadye, Tshiamo Rantao and Sadique Kebonang.
