�Ice Queen� denied bail in fraud case

Desma Basson, hailed as the country’s first female rapper/emcee, was yesterday denied bail by the Extension II Magistrate court, in a case in which she is charged with obtaining by false pretences.

Senior Magistrate Ntombizodwa Ncube yesterday denied her bail and she is due for mention on October 20.

Basson, popularly known as Ice Queen in entertainment circles, broke into the limelight with now defunct Gaborone outfit, P-Side in 2000. She was committed to prison on September 22 after consecutive missed court appearances. She had been absent from court from October 17, 2014, missing several appearances.
