I didn't fear Tshekedi Khama-Motswaledi

Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) whiz kid, Gomolemo Motswaledi has denied that he developed cold feet in the Serowe North West contest against Vice President, Ian Khama's younger brother, Tshekedi Khama.

Rather, he said, he decided to withdraw from the race in order to save his party.
"I can make any sacrifice that can save the BDP for as long as I don't emerge as the sole beneficiary," Motswaledi said about his surprise withdrawal from the race.
The Serowe North West constituency will fall vacant early next year when Ian Khama takes over from President Festus Mogae on his retirement.
In the past, Motswaledi showed interest in the constituency, which has been earmarked for Tshekedi Khama.

However, Motswaledi who recently contested the BDP secretary general's post against Jacob Nkate, has now announced that he is no longer going to challenge for the Serowe constituency.
