Govt discontinues engagement of special constables

This was revealed by the Vice President, Slumber Tsogwane this morning when officiating at the simultaneous ground breaking of 28 police stations and staff housing that was held at the Gaborone International Conference Centre (GICC) Gaborone.
Tsogwane stated that in this regard, the special constables will fully benefit from Botswana Police Service conditions of service including pension accumulation, membership to organisational welfare schemes and progression.
"This was necessitated by ethical, operational and administrative challenges presented by their temporary engagement over long periods," Tsogwane said.
