Good samaritans rescue mentally challenged Ntekola family

She is a common feature there and motorists have learned to cooperate and give her right of way to avoid accidents.
She is called Marea Ntekola who lives with her siblings in their home in Kagiso location.Since losing their parents Marea and her siblings have been living in abject poverty worsened by the death of their first-born brother who perished during a mine accident in 2004, the same year their mother died.

The only bread-winner is Marea's older brother Morwa Ntekola who survives through piece jobs.  As a result he is unable to ensure that Marea stays home and avoids walking along Selebi-Phikwe-Serule road when the situation dictates that he should be out struggling to put food on the table. "The responsibility to ensure that Marea eats, receives her medication, bathes and wears proper clothes lies upon me.
