Goat thefts surge as Palapye police suspect syndicate

A series of goat thefts in Maape Lands and a separate incident involving a stolen cow carcass have led police in Palapye to raise the alarm over a suspected syndicate targeting livestock in the area.

According to Palapye Police Station assistant commander, Assistant Superintendent Goletwa Kethamile, nine goats were stolen last Friday night whilst kraaled at Maape Lands, a case in which police are currently investigating.

The incident follows a similar one from the previous week in the same area where eight goats were also stolen.
