GCC to continue service delivery during adjournment

Former Gaborone deputy mayor, Haskins Nkayigwa, has denied charges by mayor Veronica Lesole that a 14 days adjournment will result in the hampering of service delivery.

In an interview with Mmegi yesterday, Nkayigwa said Gaborone City Council (GCC) would continue operating during the unsheduled recess. "Administration will continue to service people. People will still pay rates," he said.

Nkayigwa said even when the council is adjourned the mayor will still be responsible of ensuring that decisions are implemented by the council management and staff, who will continue reporting for work.
