MOGODITSHANE: The business community and the leadership of Mogoditshane have complained to the Commissioner of Police, Thebeyame Tsimako, about some garages dealing in Japanese cars also known as fongkongs, that they may be peddling drugs.

Commenting during a Kgotla meeting on Friday, Councillor Seipati Kgosinaga said as the business community and leaders of the village they are not happy about the fact that most of the garages selling imported cars do not have trading licenses and some are allegedly being used to trade in illegal substances such as drugs.

"All of these garages are owned by foreigners who do not even have residence permits to be in our country and they have now turned this village into an illegal trading area," said Kgosinaga.  She also asked the
Police Commissioner to arrange a day with other law enforcement agencies such as the immigration department so that they can raid the garages and if need be deport the owners.
