"The pipeline transports water from Letsibogo Dam to the south of the country and supplies Palapye and Mahalapye," says the statement, which is signed by corporate communications manager, Matida Mmipi.

"The shutdown will result in water supply interruption to the Greater Gaborone area and surrounding villages, including Mochudi and Lobatse."  People are being warned that they will experience low pressure to no water supply this period. "The WUC will do all in its power to ensure (the) availability of water during this period," the statement continues.

"This will include water rationing in some areas and bowsing in other areas. The WUC advises all water users to adopt water conservation measures and reduce non-essential uses of potable water so as to mitigate the effects of the water shortage."
