Demonstrators in Gaborone pleaded with the government of Botswana on Friday to intervene in the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

The demonstrators marched from the Mosque in Extension Four to Parliament to publicise their cause. After they failed to meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Phandu Skelemani who was not available they marched to Ministry of Education offices to submit their petition.

Human rights lawyer, Alice Mogwe said they are deeply concerned about the killings in Gaza and they want Botswana to state its stand concerning the brutal conflict. “Botswana has distanced itself from what is happening between Israel and Gaza,” said Mogwe.
