From petty thief to evangelist

MAHALAPYE: To some, evangelist Letsweletse Ntshekisang, a street preacher who often busks at Ja Monate Restaurant, is just a boy trying to eke out a living on the sympathy of passers-by while others see him as a servant of God.

The orphaned Ntshekisang related that after he completed Form Five at Kagiso Secondary School in Ramotswa in 2007, he couldn't proceed with further education. The school would not release his certificates, as he owed almost P1,000 in lost books.
He narrated that his family and relatives abused and starved him, which later made him turn to petty theft, smoking and later became a drunkard.

As luck would have it, a neighbour suggested that he sees social workers who helped pay for the lost books and got him a place at a brigade.  "I started to feel like a human being again," he recalled as he shouted 'Alleluja!'
