Fatal crash involving police vehicle claims two lives

FRANCISTOWN: A fatal accident involving a police car has claimed two lives along the A1 Highway. Confirming the incident, officer commanding No 1, Paul Molapisi said that the accident took place on Saturday at around 7:30pm just opposite Precious Filling Station.

He said that the accident involved two police officers who were using an official car and four other individuals travelling in a private car (Toyota Vits). “So far we have lost two lives; a woman and a man from the private car aged 50 and 57 years respectively.

The police officers and other passengers are still hospitalised at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital,” said Molapisi. He added that the deceased persons are the driver of the private car and the passenger who was sitting in the front.
