Ex-BNF Politician Declares War

A Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) politician, Jopa Osupile has declared war on his former party, the Botswana National Front (BNF). Osupile has said he will help controversial BNF councillor Mogalakwe Mogalakwe to terrorise the BNF.

The BDP man is planning to camp in the Gaborone North West constituency of BNF leader Otsweleste Moupo to recruit BNF members. "I will always help him (Mogalakwe) to terrorise BNF and I am saying this in front of you. I know BNF as I know the palm of my hand," Osupile told a rally in Gaborone last week. He said that he left BNF because it does not have a vision and hence it opposes everything the BDP does for the nation even if it is good. Osupile said that there is major plot to oust Moupo from the BNF presidency because he has failed and embarrassed the party. "Let me tell you the secret.

They said I should not tell anyone but I am telling you. Moupo is not wanted and he will lose the primary elections," he said. He urged BNF members to follow him, as the party will be no more after the 2009 national elections. BNF members present at the BDP rally made snide remarks when Osupile was speaking. "O seso," a voice said from the crowd.
