Driver pleads not guilty in multiple death case

SELEBI-PHIKWE: A 57 year old, Moeti Segwagwa has pleaded not guilty to all six counts of causing death by dangerous driving before Selebi-Phikwe Magistrate court on Tuesday morning.

Segwagwa was a driver of a Dyna bakkie that was involved in an accident with Bamangwato Transport bus that claimed six lives along Selebi-Phikwe/Serule near Damuchujenaa turnoff on October 1 last year.

The accused appeared before Principal Magistrate Ditebogo Ntuli, where facts of the matter were read to him. The facts were that Segwagwa caused deaths by dangerous driving, claiming the lives of Thabang Medupi, Masego Moremi, Gorata Sebitola, Bushi Gunda, Itumeleng Legwete and Onalenna Tshenyego.
