DPP can't touch frozen P24m yet - Dow

Lobatse High Court judge, Unity Dow has dismissed the application by the directorate of public prosecutions seeking to bar Daisy Loo from accessing the 24 million Pula awarded them by the Appeals Court.

The application was dismissed with costs. The money was paid to Daisy Loo for the controversial bush clearing exercise in Gaborone by Gaborone City Council but the Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crimes (DCEC) grabbed the cheque before it was cashed.

The Daisy Loo cheque is currently frozen in the trust account of Mack Bahuma Attorneys following a court order granted by a Gaborone magistrate.
