Doubts Cast On BOTEC-RIPCO Consultancy

Ishmael Sechele, the president of BOTEC's Maranyane Staff Union (MASU) added last week that they are still waiting for official communication on the matter and an address from the newly constituted BOTEC board. The consultancy in question is expected to finish its work by August 29 and report to the Ministry of Information, Science and Technology.
The employees of BOTEC and RIPCO got a rude awakening recently when reports emerged that the merger had been abandoned in favour of total dissolution and the formation of a new body by next April. The reports said that several employees from both organisations are to be retrenched in the process.
