Defence wants Tiroyamodimo's charges dropped

The defence team in a case in which suspended Deputy Commander of Botswana Defence Force (BDF) Otisitswe Tiroyamodimo, and attorney Temperance Ketshabile are facing criminal charges has called on the Broadhurst Magistrates' Court to dismiss the case.

Banyatsi Mmekwa, for Tiroyamodimo, and Oteng Motlhala for Ketshabile, argued that the charges against their clients do not exist in the laws of Botswana.

They argued that for the past nine months they have pleaded with the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to amend the charge sheet to align the charges with the laws of the country, in vain.
