Defence Attorney Guns For Withdrawal In Murder Case

LOBATSE: An attorney in a case in which two sons of Mmathethe village chief, Daniel Mathiba and two others allegedly murdered a Zimbabwean man, has asked the court to withdraw the case. The attorney, Moahi Lesedi, further asked the court to denounce the prosecution’s delay.

Ofentse (28) and Tumediso Mathiba (34), along with Thato Keosaletse (23) and Gindra Mothupi (19) are accused of  murdering John Ngwenya for suspected ritual purposes on the night of January 26 at Mmalore lands near Mmathethe village.  Ngwenya’s body was found with several injuries therein leading to the arrest of the chief’s sons on February 8, 2016 in connection with the incident.

The defence attorney, Lesedi asked the court to withdraw the matter on the grounds that the prosecution was causing a delay in providing a forensic report.
