Death Sentence Cheers Family Of Mupane Mine Murder Victim

FRANCISTOWN: The family of a slain man who was murdered by his colleagues at Mupane Gold Mine in May 2006 says they are happy with the death penalty imposed on his killers by the High Court.

They say although the sentence would not bring back the deceased, it would give them a peace of mind and bring some kind of closure to the matter.

Mario Lottering, a father of two, was 29 years when he was killed by Arnold Masango and Raymond Leshomo at Mupane Gold Mine in the North East District, purportedly as a result of "petty work-related jealousy" after a series of misunderstandings between the deceased and Leshomo.
