DCEC to interview Chinese MD over bribery claims

Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) investigators are set to interview one of the Chinese directors charged with trying to bribe a permanent secretary.

Defence attorney Unoda Mack told the Village Magistrates Court yesterday that the interview for Xiaoxing Qui, managing director of Whitacon Company could have been conducted earlier but due to the unavailability of a Chinese interpreter, the interview did not take place. 

State prosecutors had earlier informed court that they have planned the interview to take place on September 26th.
