DCEC agents transferred off CMB trail

After two Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) investigators established a prima facie case that an asset management company, Capital Management Botswana (CMB) had bought Permanent Secretary to the President (PSP) Carter Morupisi a car while he was Botswana Public Officers Pension Fund (BPOPF) board chairperson, they were transferred elsewhere, report Mmegi Staffers OARABILE MOSIKARE & GOITSEMODIMO KAELO

On November 1, 2018, former deputy head of the DCEC, Eugene Wasetso was transferred to the Ministry of Health and Wellness while his colleague Malebogo Zilberman was moved to the crime-busting agency’s Francistown office.

The developments come to the surface as local newspapers report that Morupisi has been cleared of corruption allegations and that the DCEC has stopped investigating him.
