Customary court postpones serial offenders case

A serial offender’s case was postponed after the police pleaded with Urban Customary Court president Dikwalo Monametasi to give them time to present the defendant's previous conviction documents as evidence yesterday.

According to constable Themba Jiya, Selogile told them that he was looking for his lost cellphone, but later got suspicious of him after he changed his initial statement.  He changed his statement telling the police that he was looking for money that may have been lost by football fans at a recent game.  The court was told that Selogile said after the Zebras and South Sudan game he decided to go to the grounds to look for lost money, as he was broke.
