Councillors disturbed by raw effluent in Botshabelo

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The councillor of Botshabelo location, Kgakgamatso Ramatopi, has expressed concern over the town's faulty sewerage system, which is discharging raw effluent into the Mathathane stream. The stream, a tributary of Motloutse river, passes through the location.

Ramatopi complained that the raw effluent has stagnated in some areas, making for a fertile breeding place for mosquitoes.

The pipes of the sewerage system are said to be worn out, and as a result  the effluent is not being deposited into sewerage ponds for treatment.
