This follows a tie in votes during the October 24, 2014 general elections. A press release from the acting secretary of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), Keireng Zuze, says Tsogwane has directed that nominations of candidates be received on January 9, 2015 at Ngware Primary School - Ngware, Goodhope Primary School - Goodhope, and Mnanaana JSS - Moshupa between the hours of 09:00 hours to 13:00 hours and 14:30 hours to 17:00 hours.
“He further directed that any polls which may become necessary shall be taken on 31 January 2015,” stated Zuze. The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) had tied with the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) at Moshupa West ward, while at Ngware and Goodhope; the ruling party had tied with the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC).
