Constitution must protect sexual minorities - Ndadi

The Botswana constitution should protect sexual minorities "from the tyranny of the majority," says Uyapo Ndadi, director of Botswana Network on Law, Ethics and HIV/AIDS (BONELA).

 He said if the constitution protects sexual minorities there would be benefits to society.

"Prisons are serving as breeding grounds for the spread of HIV/AIDS, just because we don't want to give them condoms. But prisons are not isolated from us, the same prisoners are re-integrated into society at some point," he said.
