Cllr survives after hitting jumbo

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) councillor for Motlhabaneng ward in Bobirwa constituency escaped with minor injuries after hitting an elephant last Saturday evening.

Councillor Joseph Madome was travelling from Lentswe le Moriti to Motlhabaneng village when the accident happened, damaging his vehicle beyond repair. Madome said he was travelling along the gravel road when suddenly the elephant run in front of his car, giving him no time to stop.

He said after hitting the jumbo, he literally ran for his dear life in his mangled vehicle. He said when they later visited the scene with the police officers they did not find the injured elephant.
