Civic leader slams waste of taxpayers' money

Speaking at a BCP rally in Francistown, the Boikhutso ward councillor, urged the government to recall the specially elected councillors and invest the money elsewhere. He said only voted councillors work hard as they want to please the electorate unlike specially elected ones who only exist on the payroll.

"At the end of their five-year contract, government would have spent over P78 million on these specially elected MPs, yet we never see anything done by these councillors. This 78 million could be used to develop the lives of thousands of Batswana, or even finance projects that can generate income and uplift the economy," stressed Mosweu.
