The Botswana Students Union (United Kingdom) has embarked on a project called 'Inspire a Child' to support secondary school and first year bachelor of science students of the University of Botswana wanting different careers in medicine and health.

The students have selected Bokamoso Community Junior Secondary School in Gaborone as the first school that they would share their expertise with and inspire them to do better in their subjects and follow in their footsteps in the UK. According to the BSU-UK president, Sylvia Mthimkhulu, they will, during their vacations, give extra tuition to a selected secondary school, inspire or motivate them to learn, work creatively and collaboratively by focusing on their choices and also achieve deeper understanding of circular areas such as science, mathematics, business studies and others.

"Interaction amongst students will enhance sharing of first hand information from students currently studying in various universities in the UK and those in selected school. We commit ourselves to contributing towards Vision 2016, giving away our technical knowledge and sharing expertise," Mthimkhulu said.
