Brothers charged with murder

FRANCISTOWN: Two brothers, Utlwang Batlang, 22, and Simon Mosiame Batlang, 25, appeared in court on Monday to face a single charge of murder.

The state alleges that the duo murdered Collen (surname unknown to the prosecution) between December 12 and 17 last year at Sasane cattle post near Tonota.Prosecutor Paul Chaluza told the court that the exhibits have been sent to the laboratory for forensic analysis and investigations into the matter are continuing. The accused persons are out on bail. When they appeared in court, they told the magistrate Mpho Molema that they had nothing to say. They will be in court again on July 29. Meanwhile a Zimbabwean also appeared in court to face a single count of murder. Munyaradzi Nyuma, 22, is alleged to have killed Themba Dube at Moroba cattle post near Tonota last October. Prosecutor Paul Chaluza told the magistrate that the prosecution has just received the results of the forensic test. He applied for the accused to remain in custody. The case will be mentioned on June 1.
