BPP ready to join opposition talks

Gudu said the major stumbling block in the BPP was their former president, Whyte Marobela. He said when he was delegated to represent the party in the previous meetings with opposition parties, Marobela would express his personal views. He accused Marobela of not representing the interests of the BPP at such talks. He said at times, the former BPP president did not attend the meetings.
Gudu said this is why they decided to topple their former president. The BPP accused Marobela of entering into cooperation talks with the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) without authorisation. Marobela has confirmed these claims in an interview with the local media. He said he was talking to the BDP just as other opposition parties were engaged in talks among themselves. However, he denied he was fired by the BPP since he had already notified the party that he was quitting.
