Botswana failed in martenal health � MDGs report

The recently released and last Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) report has called on the Botswana government to investigate the stubborn maternal mortality if the country is to meet own and global targets.

This comes after it emerged that the country has once again failed to meet the set targets. The report, which is also the last before the curtain falls on the MDGs and the world welcomes the Post 2015 Development Agenda, has recommended that Botswana pay particular attention to and review its maternal health system with a view to improving its efficacy towards, during and post 2015.

“The synergies between these MDGs with others, particularly the one on combating HIV/AIDS,  malaria and other diseases will have to be investigated and programmed for. The same should happen with regard to modern health systems and cultural practices,” adviced the report.
