BOPEU to boycott May Day celebrations again

Though BOFEPUSU and its affiliate, BOPEU have been at loggerheads, Marenga said they are not planning a boycott like they did last year and they have given a free hand to their branches to celebrate May Day.

“We have a tradition at BOPEU that every year we give all the branches money to organise their celebrations.

The leadership does not dictate how they celebrate the May Day,” he said. He said if some branches want to celebrate the day under the auspices of BOFEPUSU, they are free to do so. He professed ignorance of this year’s May Day theme.
