Bakgatla tribal administration and other stakeholders have forced the Kgatleng District Council to suspend the effecting of the recently gazetted controversial cemetry bye-laws on the basis that they were not consulted.

This development has forced the council to call a special full council meeting next week Thursday to discuss the burning issue.

The new cemetry laws gazetted on March 4, were made by the council without satisfactorily consulting the relevant stakeholders, particularly the tribal administration authorites who are the custodians of the people.
