Body found hanging from a tree

FRANCISTOWN: Tutume Police Station commander superintendent Vusimusi Jorowe has revealed that they have uncovered a decomposed corpse in the bush between Matobo and Tutume.

He said the body had decayed so badly that it could not be taken to a mortuary. Jorowe said the incident was reported on Monday after a boy saw the body hanging from a tree as he was looking for goats."After receiving the report, we rushed to the scene where we found a man aged between 40 and 45 years hanging from a tree. He used a wire to kill himself," he said. He said that after consulting a doctor at the scene as well as the village kgosi, his officers and the district commissioner decided to bury the body.

"There was nothing that could be done besides to bury him right at the spot because the body was badly decomposed. The smell was not healthy for human beings," he said.Jorowe said investigations are underway to locate the family of the deceased. He called on the public to report to Tutume police if they have missing relatives.
