Four Batswana men have been arrested for impersonating the police and defrauding unsuspecting victims of large sums of money.

Botswana Police Service (BPS) Public Relations Officer, Senior Superintendent Near Bagali stated in a media release that Bobonong police arrested four Batswana men aged between 31 and 42 on Thursday for obtaining by false pretences.

“The quartet, two men from Old Naledi in Gaborone, one from Kopong, and the other from Francistown, are suspected to be part of a syndicate that has been going around defrauding people of cash masquerading as police officers who are investigating some cases of stolen money,” Bagali said.
