BNF likely to form the next government - Mohwasa

The Botswana National Front (BNF) publicity secretary Moeti Mohwasa has warned that anybody writing his party's obituary regarding the 2009 general elections is doing so at his or her own peril.

Despite the divisions that nearly wrecked the party, compelling BNF president Otsweletse Moupo to call an extra-ordinary congress at which a new central committee was elected in Molepolole last July, Mohwasa says the BNF is as strong as ever.   Speaking of a colossal growth in the number of seats in parliament from the present 12, the BNF publicity chief does not rule out chances of his party forming the next government.

In a wide-ranging interview, Mohaswa said things are beginning to stabilise after the party reeled from the brink that almost broke the BNF into two camps before the extra-ordinary congress.
