FRANCISTOWN: The Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) is not worried by the defection of its prominent members to other political parties especially the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP).

Its leader, Gomolemo Motswaledi said on Saturday that despite the defections, the BMD believes it has made a lot of gains in its bid to assert itself as a political organisation of choice.

"Yes there is no doubt that losing members to other parties is a bit disappointing but we have also made strides in terms of welcoming new members into our fold. We have attracted many people than we have lost. It is only that we do not celebrate the little joys we always come across," he said.
