BMD goes to place of birth

The Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) will this Saturday retrace its steps and hold a rally in its birthplace, Mogoditshane.

BMD organising secretary, Kabo Morwaeng, told Mmegi yesterday that the party chairman, Nehemiah Modubule, and other leaders will address the rally, which will be held at a freedom square near The Big Five Lodge, where it was formed in March 2009.

The BMD, which is a breakaway from the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), was formed after a historic Mogoditshane meeting where some BDP leaders and activists, including Members of Parliament converged and decided to leave the BDP.
