Bidders Fume Over Nepotism In Tender Awards

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Local Authorities have come under fire for nepotism in the awarding of council tenders.

Small Medium Enterprises (SME) chiefs who attended the Barclays Bank's business club seminar in Selebi-Phikwe last Thursday said there are instances where they are told that their licences and certificates have disappeared hence they could not win tenders.

One participant said his tender documents were torn in front of him but he took the matter up with higher authorities in Gaborone and the tender was cancelled.
