beMobile reaches 400 000 customers

Bemobile on Friday announced that they have eclipsed 400,000 mark of networkusers as the local grown mobile operator celebrated five years in style.

The network also revealed beMOBILE revenues grew to P342 million.And they painted the city  green on Friday as they celebrated the fifth anniversary. Speaking at the ceremony BTCL Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Paul Taylor said back in 2008 no one thought they stood a chance of success in the business.

He highlighted delivering great financial results by aggressively pursuing an ever-increasing customer base as one of their greatest achievements.Taylor emphasised that to challenge their competition they launched an extensive number of new products and services. He said that they had recently introduced smartphones services, gone to market with a revamped beFREE that qualifies a customer free minutes during the week, launched the Huwei Handset promotion, partnered with First National Bank (FNB) to deliver SMEGA, which is a mobile financial service that enables a customer to send and receive money anywhere in Botswana and other services. Taylor told the gathering that over the past five-year period, since commercialisation, beMOBILE revenues had grown dramatically making a significant contribution towards the overall results of BTCLE. The day kicked off with a walk from the beMOBILE premises to the station where there was entertainment and giveaways to the public.
