BEC explains why PSLE candidates are ungraded

The Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has explained that 35 candidates who sat the Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE) were not graded because they did not do all the subjects.

The BEC director of Examinations Administration and Certification, Baeti Charumbira told Mmegi yesterday that there was insufficient information on why the pupils have not sat for all examinations.

"It could mean that they have not sat for Setswana (subject) which is compulsory to all. Normally they would come to query their results and if they have a genuine reason, they would be graded on the six subjects instead of seven," she said.
