Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) spokesman Macdonald Peloetetse is recovering at Gaborone Private Hospital after a gun went off and injured him on the arm and head in a freak accident at a farm in Kweneng on Saturday.

Peloetese was on a hunting spree with friends Patrick Chivese, MPs Botsalo Ntuane, Odirile Mothale and Puma Matlhware and farm workers when the freak accident happened, according to MP Ntuane." What happened was a terrible accident.

As friends we decided to come to Manaka farm, owned by our friend, Patrick Chivese; MacD was unloading some stuff from a vehicle and a shot gun went off; we managed to rush him to the hospital in Letlhakeng; MacD is a strong man. He was conscious for the entire 30 minutes drive. He was stabilised after which an ambulance ferried him to Molepolole but along the way he was met by a another ambulance which took him to Gaborone Private Hospital; we are grateful as friends that our friend survived this mishap. It could have been worse when you consider that his wounds were caused by shrapnel".
