BDP celebrates 49 years

Next month, the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) celebrates its 49 years of existence through various activities and members will be dressed in red for the whole month, the party secretariat says.

In an interview, BDP executive secretary, Comma Serema, said the party, founded on February 28 1962, will hold rallies and concerts.  Though they are still planning the activities, he confirmed that so far President Ian Khama will lead a party rally to be held in Molepolole on February 12. 

"We are also working on other activities.  But we will make sure that they are all rooted around visibility.  We intend to ensure that the party is visible at all times to the public.  That is why we are working on having stickers, pamphlets and media advertisements for the whole month of February," he said.
