Ngaka over the weekend won the Letlhakeng West by-election after beating Botswana National Front (BNF) candidate, Filbert Nagafela. The BDP vanquished the BNF by 3,437 votes to 3,097. Out of the 6,656 votes, 122 were spoilt.

At Parliament, the BDP activists who turned up en masse almost took all the seats behind the BDP backbenchers and some sat behind the opposition benches. Some of them came clad in party colours and the parliamentary security had to ask BDP secretary general, Mpho Balopi, to remove his party's red-tie.
