BDF soldier injured in parachute accident

One Botswana Defence Force (BDF) soldier had a stroke of bad luck when the parachute he was using had a malfunction mid-air.

The soldier fell to the ground and sustained serious injuries. The warrant officer who is in the Special Forces unit is reported to be highly experienced and has jumped over 500 times in his 32 years of service with the BDF.

The BDF spokesperson Colonel Tebo Dikole confirmed the accident to Mmegi yesterday and said the hospitalised soldier was in stable condition.
